Unifor locals reach deals with Bombardier

Deals will be sent for ratification on June 28

Two Unifor locals working at the Bobardier Aerospace plant in Downsview, Ont., reached new collective agreements with the company.

The deals will be sent for ratification on June 28.

The agreements cover members of Unifor’s Local 112 and Local 673. The locals represent employees working in production at the plant as well as those employees working in office and clerical positions, respectively.

According to the union, details of the deals will only be made public following ratification. Both local bargaining teams are unanimously recommending that members ratify the collective agreements.

“We were able to reach deals we are proud to put to the membership thanks to the commitment of the bargaining committees and the support they enjoyed from their members,” said Unifor’s national president Jerry Dias.

Dias began his career at the Bombardier Aerospace plant and, the union said, was active in the negotiations.
