Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2015, to April 30, 2018. Signed on May 1, 2015.

Wage adjustments:

Shift premium: $10 per seaday for stewards.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked beyond 8 hours per day for employees working in port. Double time for all hours worked in port on Sunday.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 80% of major medical expenses subject to policy limitations. Employer pays 80% of direct drug expenses.

Vision: Employer pays 80% of premiums to a maximum of $120 every 2 years.

Weekly indemnity: $413

AD&D: $50,000

Life insurance: Employer pays 65% of premiums. Employees absent from work as a result of layoff for more than 4 consecutive months will be responsible for 100% of premium costs for the time missed.

Pension: Employer pays $3.94 per seaday in consideration of the wind-up of the flat-rate benefit pension plan.
Contributions made by employees between May 1, 2015, and Feb. 28, 2016, will be matched by the employer to a maximum of $1,400. Contributions made by employees between March 1, 2016, and Feb. 28, 2017, will be matched by the employer to a maximum of $1,500. Contribution made by employees between March 1, 2017, and Feb. 29, 2018, will be matched by the employer to a maximum of $1,600.

Bereavement leave: $1,350 per week missed when an employees is brought ashore before the completion of a trip in the event of the death of a spouse, child, stepchild, father, stepfather, mother or stepmother. $1,000 per week in the event of the death of a brother or sister. $750 per week in the event of a grandchild, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent or legal guardian.

Seniority – recall rights: 2 years.

Probationary period: 3 consecutive trips.

Severance: $500 per year of service for employees with at least 10 years of service.

Uniforms/clothing: $2.50 per seaday.

Deckhand/steward: $173.19 per seaday
Cook/assistant factory boss: $177.19
2nd engineer: $187.69
In-port 2nd engineer/cook: $18 per hour
In-port deckhand/steward: $15

Editor’s notes: Leave of absence: Employees will be granted unpaid leave for the purpose of attending a recognized institution in order to improve their skills as crewmembers. Danger pay: Employees receive $1.25 per seaday in lieu of danger pay. Crewing: Except in exceptional circumstances, trip length will not exceed 27 calendar days. Cook/steward: If a vessel requires a cook/steward, the crew will be canvassed first to see if there are any volunteers. If not, cooks/stewards from the fleet will be canvassed before a cook/steward is hired from outside the employer. Scallops: Employees will be entitled to a free-issue of scallops upon landing, to a maximum of 15 pounds. Drills: Life boat, man overboard and fire drills will be carried out on each ship. Anchor drills will be carried out once every 4 months. Diversion from fishing:When the vessel is required to assist another vessel, employees will be paid $350 per day. Ship loss allowance: $750 for loss of personal items if the vessel is lost or burned during a trip.
