Renewal agreement: Effective March 1, 2015, to October 31, 2017. Signed on June 21, 2013.

Shift premium: $1 per hour for stewards. $1.25 per hour for stewards with Tool Box 1. $1.50 for stewards with Tool Box 2. $2 for stewards with Tool Box 3. $2.25 for chief stewards with Tool Box 1. $2.50 for chief stewards with Tool Box 2. $3 for chief stewards with Tool Box 3. $0.20 per 10-tonnes over 66 tonnes. $3 per hour for shifts between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. $5 per hour for hours worked using special welder alloys.

Paid holidays: 4% holiday pay in lieu of statutory holidays. Holiday pay included in regular paycheques.

Vacations with pay: 6% vacation pay in lieu of vacation time. Vacation pay included in regular paycheques.  

Overtime: Time and one-half after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Time and one-half for all hours worked on a statutory holiday.

Meal allowance: Employees who work over 12 hours in a day will receive a meal from the employer.

Medical benefits: Employees are eligible for coverage under the CLAC Health and Welfare Trust Fund after 350 hours worked.

Dental: 100% coverage for basic services up to $2,000 per person per year. 50% coverage for comprehensive services up to $2,000 per person per year. 50% coverage for orthodontic services to a lifetime maximum of $3,000 per child under 19.

Vision: Employer reimburses prescription safety glasses up to $250 after 900 hours of work. Employees must have worked an additional 3,000 hours for any subsequent reimbursement. Contact lenses are not eligible. One-time payment up to $250 for corrective laser eye surgery. $300 per year optical insurance under the age of 21. $300 every 2 years optical insurance for the age of 21 and older.

STD: 60% weekly earnings to a maximum of $600 per week. Benefits payable after the 1st day of accident or hospitalization and the 14th day of illness to amaximum of 119 days.

LTD: 60% of earnings to a maximum of $2,600 per month after 199 days until the age of 65.

AD&D: $100,000 per employee under the age of 65. $50,000 per employee from age 65 to age 74.

Life insurance: $100,000 per employee under the age of 65. $50,000 per employee from age 65 to age 74.

Pension: Employer will contribute an extra 2 per cent for all hours worked to the defined contribution pension plan. The employee will match this amount via payroll deduction.

Bereavement leave: 3 paid days for the employee’s spouse, parent, legal guardian, child, legal dependent, sibling, sibling-in-law, parent-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, niece or nephew.

Call-in pay: Time and one-half for all hours worked.

Safety shoes: The employees must supply their own CSA-approved safety boots.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer provides CSA-approved safety hats and any other necessary safety equipment.

Tool allowance: All tradespeople will supply their own tools common to their trade, but specialty and power tools will be provided by the employer.

Editor’s notes: Lack of work: An employee who comes to work without being notified there is no work available and is sent home will receive a minimum of 2 hours' pay at their hourly rate. The employee will also receive their full accommodation allowance if and when applicable. Layoff: Employer will give each employee 4 hours’ notice of layoff or 4 hours of pay in lieu.
