Workers at Mondiv in Quebec achieve first contract

Three-year deal includes raises

United Food and Commercial Workers Canada (UFCW) Local 1991P members working at Mondiv in Boisbriand, Que., signed their first collective agreement March 27.

Mondiv is a division of Lassonde Specialities, which manufactures high-quality food products such as sauces, broths, marinades, and soups.

The more than 100 members at Mondiv work as cooks, machine operators, forklift operators, electro-mechanical technicians, carpenters and in production.

The new agreement brings wage adjustments of 1.3 per cent and raises of 2.25 per cent per year. It also acknowledges the summer months as prime vacation time for members, according to UFCW.

As well, Mondiv members will receive three personal leave days, long-term disability and life insurance, said the union.

The three-year collective agreement will run until Sept. 30, 2019.
