Vancouver (29 truck drivers) and Teamsters Canada, Local 31

Renewal agreement: Effective June 21, 2016, to June 20, 2021. Signed on Jan. 7, 2017. 
Wage adjustments: 
Effective June 21 for each year of contract (retroactive to last year): COLA defined as Consumer Price Index for Canada (all items) 2002=100
Shift premium: $0.30 per hour for first aid attendants. Company driver’s premiums: $0.75 per hour for hauling trains on the road; $0.75 per hour for yard posting; $1.50 per hour for night shift between 4 p.m. and 5 a.m. Dependant contractors Delta, B.C., port premium: $20 per trip; wet kit delivery: $9 per hour; $4 per hour for night shift between 4 p.m. and 5 a.m. or any work on Saturday or Sunday.
Paid holidays: 12 days. 
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% to start, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 9 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 15 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 21 years. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for first 2 hours worked after regular hours. Double time thereafter. Triple time for ninth and tenth hours on Sundays or holidays. Quadruple time for work after 10 hours. May be banked, maximum 100 hours.
Medical benefits: Teamsters’ National Benefit Plan. Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Dental: Teamsters’ National Benefit Plan.
Weekly indemnity: Teamsters’ National Benefit Plan.
Sick leave: 500 hours per year.
LTD: Teamsters’ National Benefit Plan.
AD&D: Teamsters’ National Benefit Plan.
Life insurance: Teamsters’ National Benefit Plan.
Pension: Teamsters’ National Pension Plan. Employer pays 100% of contributions ($1 per hour in year 1, $1.10 per hour in year 2, $1.20 per hour in year 3, $1.45 per hour in year 4, $1.70 per hour in year 5.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (parent, spouse, brother, sister, child, parent-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, stepchildren, legal guardian, grandparents, spouse’s grandparents, grandchildren).
Probationary period: 90 days. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months.
Safety shoes: $175 every 2 years for boots.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current):
Company drivers base rate: $25.50 
Dependant contractors base rate: $57.50 
Dependant contractors: $36 per hour when driving company trucks
Editor’s notes: Licence tests: Employer will provide appropriate vehicles, paid time off, when employee is required to take a licence test. Employer will contribute maximum $175 (previously $40) for any physical examinations required. Industry advancement fund: Employer will contribute $0.05 per hour to the fund.
