Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2017, to Dec. 31, 2018. Ratified on March 6, 2017. Signed on June 29, 2017. 
Wage adjustments: 
Effective Jan. 1, 2017: 1.75%
Effective Jan. 1, 2017: 2%
Shift premium: Senior work: Trade employee assigned as foreman will receive 110% of employee’s salary.
Paid holidays: 13 days, including one-half day on Christmas Eve. 
Vacations with pay: 3 weeks after 1 year, 4 weeks after 8 years, 5 weeks after 15 years, 6 weeks after 24 years. Maximum 1 week may be carried over. 
Overtime: Double time for all work after regular shift. May be banked, maximum 80 hours.
Meal allowance: Reimbursement for meals after every 4 hours of overtime.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% for Alberta Health Care Insurance. Employer pays 100% of premiums for Blue Cross Supplementary Medical Plan.
Dental: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% for Alberta Health Care Insurance. Employer pays 100% of premiums for Blue Cross Supplementary Dental Plan.
Sick leave: 1 day per month, maximum 80 days. 
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $25,000.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, father, mother, sister, brother, mother-in-law, father-in-law, stepmother, stepfather, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, legally recognized children, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren). Additional 2 days for travel time if more than 300 kilometres away. 8 hours per 12-month period to attend funeral.
Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours’ pay (plus 15 minutes travel time) at double time.
Probationary period: 6 months. 
Safety shoes: $150 per year for CSA-approved, non-metal reinforced, toed boots.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will issue line foreman, meter and substations foreman, journeyman lineman/powerline technician and apprentice powerline technician and electricians with: 5 FR bib coveralls or FR pants, 7 FR shirts, 2 FR jackets, 1 FR winter parka, FR rain gear, one pair per year bib coveralls (non-FR ) for traffic loop installation, appropriate hard hats, 1 FR hoodie, choice of FR hat-liner or FR balaclava, gloves, wet-weather clothing (boots and mitts). Employer will issue senior utility worker, URD utility worker, URD utility worker, electrical engineering tech, designer (team leader and designers 1, 2 and 3 working outside) with: gloves, wet weather clothing (boots, coats, pants and mitts), appropriate hard hat, choice of FR hat-liner or FR balaclava. Senior utility worker and URD worker will be provided with: 1 bib coveralls.

Editor’s notes: High voltage work: At least 2 journeymen must work together on high-voltage conductors. In case of trouble, 1 journeyman may be sent out alone to standby until another can be obtained. From dusk to dawn, there will be 2 journeymen working on any energized equipment. Standby: 12 hours' pay at current line foreman rate of pay for each week of standby performed. Employee must reside within 8 kilometres of corporate boundaries of City of Red Deer. Work at heights: Employees climbing on poles, timbers, bridges, towers or fixtures 65 feet or higher will be paid double schedule rate. If overtime is being worked, rate would be three times schedule rate. Minimum 1 hour's pay. Retirement allowance: On retirement and after 15 years of service, employee shall receive 1 day of vacation for each year of service. Prescription safety glasses: $175 every 2 years.
