Macdonald Youth Services workers in Winnipeg ratify 4-year deal

After three years without contract: MGEU

Employees at Macdonald Youth Services, Northern/Alternative Parent Home Program (Local 369) in Winnipeg ratified a new four-year agreement on Oct. 16.

Wages within the new agreement are based on an interest arbitration decision awarded in July, in which the arbitrator decided to provide Manitoba Government and General Employees’ Union (MGEU) members with increases in each of the four years, said the union.

It also includes a number of changes to contract language, which the union said it negotiated with the employer. The union voted to accept it last week.

Both sides went three years without a new contract, according to MGEU.
