Renewal agreement: Effective June 29, 2016, to March 31, 2019. Signed on March 17, 2017.
Wage adjustments: 
Effective April 1, 2016: 2.5%
April 1, 2017: Wage and benefits re-opener (if Alberta government negotiates general wage increase)
April 1, 2018: Wage and benefits re-opener (if Alberta government negotiates general wage increase)
Shift premium: $2 per hour when 60% of shift for heating and cooling plant, control centre and university protective services workers is between 3 p.m. and 7 a.m.
Paid holidays: 11 days. 
Vacations with pay: 15 days to start, 20 days after 5 years, 25 days after 15 years, 30 days after 20 years. 5 additional days off after 25 years. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for first 2 hours, double time thereafter. 
Meal allowance: $7 and one-half hour to eat when working more than 2 hours of overtime.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Paramedical: $2,500 overall maximum.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for $25,000 coverage. $100,000 when employee travelling on employer business. 
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: Public Service Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of son, daughter, brother, sister, spouse, common-law spouse, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, parent, parent-in-law, grandparent, husband, wife.
Seniority – recall rights: 24 months. 
Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours’ pay, double time for all hours worked after regular hours. $30 for travel compensation. 
Probationary period: 6 months for employees in grades 1 to 10, 12 months for employees in grades 11 to 15. 
Severance: 5 weeks’ pay with more than 2 years of service; 2 months’ pay with more than 4 years of service; 3 months’ pay with more than 6 years of service; 5 months’ pay with more than 8 years of service; 6 months’ pay with more than 10 years of service.
Safety shoes: $100 one-time payment after probation, when CSA-approved protective footwear is required. $12 per month for CSA-approved protective footwear. 
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply special apparel, including uniforms and coveralls, when required. 
Tool allowance: Employer will replace employee’s damaged hand or bench tools. Employer will supply special or unusual tools when required.

Editor’s notes: Human resources development fund: Employer contributes $4,000 per year into fund. Health spending account: $1,000 per employee per year (dependants also covered). Lifestyle & wellness account: $250 per employee per year (employees only covered). Physical education and recreation: Employer will provide employees with full access to physical education and recreation facilities within Van Vliet Centre including equipment room and access to locker rooms. Eligible employees also have access to fitness and lifestyle centre, aquatic centre, ice arena, running track, as well as court and field facilities during recreational hours at no charge. Standby pay: $40 if standby is on regular work day; $55 if standby is on regular day of rest; $55 plus lieu day, if standby is on paid holiday or previously agreed-to lieu day.
