Paramed Home Health Care, Lindsay Nurses in Ontario vote to join ONA

Nurses join 65,000-strong union

The Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) welcomed 109 new members to the union on Nov. 21.

Registered Nurses (RNs) and Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) who provide home-care services to Paramed Home Health Care, Lindsay Nurses patients in Oshawa and Lindsay both in Ontario, voted to join the ONA.

“ONA has consistently spoken out about the need for more front-line RNs and RPNs to provide home-care services for those who require it,” said Linda Haslam-Stroud, ONA president.

ONA represents about 65,000 registered nurses and health-care professionals, as well as 16,000 nursing student affiliates, providing care in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, clinics and industry.
