Winnipeg (700 construction workers) and the Maple Leaf Construction Employees Association

Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2016, to April 30, 2020. Signed on May 1, 2016.
Shift premium: $1 per hour for all hours worked north of 53rd parallel. $1 per hour for all hours worked on out-of-province jobsites.
Paid holidays: 10 days. 
Vacations with pay: In accordance with Vacations with Pay Act of Manitoba. 
Overtime: Will be paid after 50 hours per week from May 1 to Oct. 31 in each year; after 48 hours per week from Nov. 1 to April 30 in each year. Time and one-half for all work on Saturday or Sunday. Time and one-half for sewer and water emergency night work.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. 80% co-insurance on basic coverage. 50% co-insurance on restoration work. Maximum $1,500 per individual per calendar year.
Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Paramedical: $500 maximum per year per practitioner: chiropractors, physiotherapists, athletic therapists, psychologists, speech therapists, naturopaths, osteopaths, massage therapists.
Sick leave: After 2 years of employment, employee will receive 1 day per month, maximum 10 days per year. May be accumulated, maximum 50 days. 
LTD: Eligible to employers hired May 1, 2016. Employee pays $45 per month. Maximum benefit: $2,000 per month. 
Life insurance: Employees will pay $0.25 per month per $1,000 of coverage. $100,000 for foreman, $75,000 for others. Employer will pay excess costs. 
Pension: RRSP plan will be offered to employees. After 1 year, employer and employee each contribute 2.5%; after 6 years, employer and employee each contribute 4%; after 11 years, employer and employee each contribute 6%; after 16 years, employer and employee each contribute 8%.
Bereavement leave: Minimum 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law partner, father, mother, spouse of employee’s father and mother (including common-law partner), father, mother and spouse of employee’s father and mother (including common-law partner), grandchildren, brother, sisters, parent-in-laws (including common-law partner), resident residing with employee). Minimum 1 day for death in extended family (grandparent, spouse of employees’ grandparent (including common-law partner), uncles, aunts, first-cousins only, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews).
Probationary period: 3 months.
