Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2017, to Dec. 31, 2020. Signed on Jan. 30, 2017.
Wage adjustments: 
Effective Jan. 1, 2017: 2%
Effective Jan. 1, 2018: 2%
Paid holidays: 11 days, plus 1 floating holiday. 
Vacations with pay: Professional librarians: 4 weeks after 1 year, 4 weeks plus 1 day after 11 years, 4 weeks plus 2 days after 12 years, 4 weeks plus 3 days after 13 years, 4 weeks plus 4 days after 14 years, 5 weeks after 15 years, 5 weeks plus 1 day after 17 years, 5 weeks plus 2 days after 19 years, 5 weeks plus 3 days after 21 years, 5 weeks plus 4 days after 23 years, 6 weeks after 25 years, 7 weeks after 27 years, 7 weeks plus 1 day after 31 years, 7 weeks plus 2 days after 32 years, 7 weeks plus 3 days after 33 years, 7 weeks plus 4 days after 34 years, 8 weeks after 35 years. 
Overtime: Time and one-half (double time for bookmobile drivers working compulsory overtime) for all work after 70 hours or 72 1/2 hours per 2-week period or 7 or 8 hours per day. May be taken as time off in lieu, no later than 3 months from date earned. 
Meal allowance: $7 when employee is required to work overtime on day which was not prescheduled and which would result in employee working more than 9 consecutive hours per day. $8 (previously $7) for bookmobile employees assigned to work on vehicle and entitled to meal break. $8 (previously $7) for employees who are assigned to work for 7-hour shift or more at non-library location (outreach services).
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. 
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. 
Vision: $375 every 24 months (previously $300 every 24 months) (includes prescriptive lenses, frames and eye examination by optometrist).
Paramedical: Maximum $300 (previously $200) per person per year for chiropractic. $1,000 per year for physiotherapy. 
LTD: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums for 66 2/3% of monthly earnings, maximum of $3,500 for illness in excess of 26 weeks.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 2 times salary. 
Pension: If eligible, employees will join Ontario Municipal Employees’ Retirement System (OMERS).
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse, child, stepchild, parent, stepparent). 3 days for death of ward, guardian, foster-parent, parent-in-law, sister, stepsister, brother, stepbrother, niece, nephew, grandparent, grandchild, aunt, uncle, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law. 2 days for attendance at funeral, cremation, memorial, burial that takes place at later date. 2 additional days if funeral, burial, cremation, memorial service occurs outside Ontario.
Seniority – recall rights: 24 months. 
Probationary period: 90 working days for full-time, 600 hours for part-time and call-in employees.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months, 18 months for part-time and call-in employees.
Severance: 2 weeks’ salary per year of service, maximum 26 weeks.

Editor’s notes: Sunday compensation: Employee will be given lieu time of 7 hours for 4 1/2 hours worked on Sunday in week during or immediately after week in which Sunday is worked. Citizenship leave: Employee is entitled to maximum 4 hours off without loss of pay in order to complete citizenship application (interview and swearing-in ceremony). Hearing aids: $300 every 36 months.
