Employees at Affinity Credit Union in Hudson Bay, Sask., sign contract

United Food and Commercial Workers Canada (UFCW), Local 1400 members working at the Affinity Credit Union in Hudson Bay, Sask. ratified a new collective agreement on May 22 that improves contract language and job classifications.

Highlights of the new two-year agreement include the addition of gender identity to non-discrimination language, reimbursement for the mutual funds administration fee, an additional personal day off with the ability to use this day when absent from work due to inclement weather and updated job classifications — including sales and service representative and personal banker — that will result in wage increases of seven, eight, and 21 per cent over the term of the contract, said the union.
