Workers at Source Atlantic in N.B. ratify new contract

24 employees will see better leaves, higher wages, boot-allowance boost: UFCW

United Food and Commercial Workers Canada (UFCW), Local 1288P members working at Source Atlantic in Moncton and Saint John in New Brunswick, ratified a new five-year collective agreement on June 29 that provides wage increases and an improved boot allowance.

The 24 employees work in the warehouse personnel, shipping/receiving and counter sales departments for the industrial wholesale distributor, said the union.

Under the new contract, workers will see improvements to statutory holidays leave, bereavement leave, a boot allowance increase to $225 and wage increases of 10.75 per cent for lead-hands and 10.25 per cent for other employees, said UFCW.
