Manitoba liquor store workers OK new 4-year deal

Agreement includes wage increases of 1.5 to 2.5 per cent

WINNIPEG (CP) — Workers at Manitoba liquor stores have ratified a new four-year contract.

The Manitoba Government Employees Union says the new agreement maintains the current sick-day policy, has minor tweaks to shift premiums and updated dental coverage.

The agreement includes a wage increase of 1.5 per cent for the first year (retroactive to March), and increases of two, two and 2.5 per cent consecutively in the last three years.

MGEU president Michelle Gawronsky says she's pleased they were able to fight off concessions at the bargaining table and receive a reasonable wage increase.
