Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 8, 2016, to Jan. 7, 2021. Signed on Jan. 7, 2016.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Jan. 1, 2017: 3.5%
Effective Jan. 1, 2018: 3.5%
Effective Jan. 1, 2019: to be negotiated no later than Jan. 7, 2019.
Effective Jan. 1, 2020: to be negotiated no later than Jan. 7, 2019.

Shift premium:
15% for hours worked between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Paid holidays:
12. Time and one-half plus future day off with pay if employee required to work a holiday.

Vacations with pay:
4% to start, 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 3 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 18 years. No more than 2 weeks to be taken during July and August.

Overtime:
Time and one-half for all hours worked beyond 8 per day or 40 per week. Double time for over 12 hours in 1 day.

Medical benefits:
Employer pays 100% of premium for Gold Plus Enhanced Health and Welfare Plan.

Dental:
Employer pays 100% of premiums to a maximum of $2,000 per person annually for basic services. 50% to a maximum of $2,000 annually for comprehensive services. 50% to a lifetime maximum of $3,000 per child under 19 for orthodontics.

Vision
: $300 per year optical insurance under 21. $300 every two years over 21. Employer will supply safety glasses where required.

Paramedical:
80% up to $3,000 per person annually, 100% thereafter.

Weekly indemnity:
60% of earnings to a maximum of $700 per week to age 75. Payable after first day of accident or hospitalization and 14th day of sickness for a maximum of 119 days.

LTD:
60% of earnings, maximum of $3,000 per month, payable after 120 days until age 65.

AD&D
: $100,000 under 65. $50,000 between 65-75.

Life insurance:
$100,000 under 65, $50,000 between 65-75.

Pension:
3% of employees’ gross earnings contributed to the defined contribution CLAC Pension Plan by the employer. Employee can contribute extra through payroll deduction.

Bereavement leave:
3 days with pay for death of parent, sister, brother, spouse, child, parent-in-law, stepparent, stepparent-in-law, or stepchild.

Seniority – recall rights:
6 months to start, 1 year after 1 year of service.

Call-in pay:
4 hours at regular hourly rate if work cannot be completed due to causes outside employee’s control.

Probationary period:
60 shifts.

Discipline:
Sunset clause is 18 months.

Safety shoes:
$150 per year for CSA-approved safety boots.

Uniforms/clothing
: Employer will supply gear for safe handling of freight and commodities, including hard hats, safety clothing, gloves, approved dust masks, and any other equipment that may be required.

Labourer: $40.17
Bulk shiploader operator:
Operator 1: $41.72

Starting: $45.32

Editor’s notes:
Religious discrimination: No discrimination against employee who refuses to report for work on a day or during hours in a day recognized by employee’s religion. Premium payments: Employer will pay until end of the month if an employee quits or is laid off or terminated before the 15th of the month. If laid off or terminated after the 15th of the month, employer will pay to the end of the following month. Pension payment: If legislation stops employer from contributing because of employee’s age, employer will add equivalent amount to employee’s gross pay. License tests: Employer will provide appropriate equipment for the renewal of a license or ticket.
