Tentative deal reached at Vancouver Island University

2-year deal provides modest wage increases

Faculty at Vancouver Island University and the Vancouver Island University Faculty Association (VIUFA) have reached a tentative deal under the province’s 2012 Co-operative Gains Mandate.

The two-year deal was finalized on March 17 and provides modest wage increases funded from savings found within already existing budgets, as outlined by the provincial mandate. Ratification is expected in the coming weeks.

The VIUFA represents more than 700 instructors, assistant instructors and technical staff at Vancouver Island University.
