Teamsters, Air Canada ratify agreement

Deal covers airline employees in United States

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) ratified a new collective agreement with Air Canada on April 14.

The agreement covers the airline’s United States-based workforce. IBT represents approximately 650 Air Canada airport, cargo and call centre employees in the U.S.

The new agreement will be in effect until June 30, 2019. The deal was originally reached in February.

Air Canada concluded a new agreement with UNITE — representing its U.K. employees — in February. That deal will also be in effect until 2019.

In October 2014 the airline ratified an agreement on collective agreement terms for ten years with the ACPA, representing Air Canada’s pilots.
