The Laurentian Bank in Montreal was advised by the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) that a motion was received Nov. 16 from a group of Laurentian Bank employees asking to revoke the Canadian Office and Professional Employees (COPE), Local 434 union accreditation, covering all of its unionized employees.

The majority of these employees work in Laurentian Bank branches in Quebec and some are employed in corporate offices in Montreal, said the company.

As set out in the applicable legislation, a CIRB officer has been designated to supervise the next steps of this motion, according to Laurentian Bank.
