Waterloo, Ont., paramedic union members ratify collective agreement

Next step is vote by regional council members: Union

Members of Local 5191 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), representing emergency medical services workers in the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, ratified a tentative agreement Aug. 14 after two days of voting.

The union will now await ratification of the agreement by Waterloo Regional Council, who is expected to make their decision shortly.

No details of the agreement will be released until it is ratified by both parties.

CUPE 5191 represents more than 220 paramedics and dispatchers in the Regional Municipality of Waterloo.
