Canada’s Construction Union Wage Rate Index remained unchanged in September 2011 compared with August, according to Statistics Canada. August’s rate also remained unchanged over July’s index.
September’s composite index remained unchanged at 1.7 per cent compared with September 2010.
In July, the most recent month for which numbers are available, the average hourly wage rate for construction workers was $26.64, compared with the previous month’s average hourly wage rate of $27.81.
The Construction Union Wage Rate Index series measure monthly changes over time in the collective agreement hourly rates, where they exist, for 16 trades engaged in building construction in 22 metropolitan areas.
