Aeroplan workers ratify three-year agreement

Deal includes improved wages, vacation, health benefits

More than 800 Aeroplan workers in Vancouver and Montreal, who are represented by the Canadian Auto Workers Union Local 2002 have ratified a new three-year collective agreement on Dec. 18.

The members voted 72 per cent in favour of the deal, which includes improved wages, vacation and health benefits.

The agreement offers a wage increase of three per cent in the first year, retroactive to Nov. 15, and two per cent in each of the second and third years. Vision care, hearing aid and life insurance coverage were also increased. The deal also includes a new clause to address workplace violence.

In addition, a previous cap on supplementary health insurance was removed.

The 800 members in Aeroplan’s Montreal and Vancouver offices book airline rewards for customers and provide online support.
