The government of New Brunswick and the New Brunswick Nurses Union (NBNU) have reached a tentative collective agreement.
Human Resources Minister Troy Lifford made the announcement on Monday and said no details about the agreement will be released until a ratification vote is held. No date has been set yet for the vote.
The NBNU represents about 6,000 registered nurses working in hospitals, public health nurses and community health nurses.
The nurses’ last contract expired on Dec. 31, 2010. It was ratified with a vote of 91 per cent in favour.
