Deal includes signing bonuses, improvements to benefits, pension

Workers at General Dynamics Land Systems in London, Ont., have voted 86 per cent in favour of a new three-year collective agreement.

The workers, who are members of the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) Local 27, manufacture armoured vehicles, including the LAV III and Stryker. About 530 employees at the London plant are represented by the CAW. The facility employs a total of 2,300 workers.

The agreement includes signing bonuses of $1,500 in the first year and $1,000 in the remaining years. In addition, the deal includes improvements to medical benefits and pension plans, as well as an early retirement incentive.
