Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2015, to June 30, 2018. Ratified on July 7, 2015.

Wage adjustments:
Effective July 1, 2016: 3%

Shift premium: $2 per hour for all hours worked before 7 a.m. or after 7 p.m. Time and one-half plus $2 for all hours worked in a night shift after completing a regular 9-hour workday. $2 per hour for foremen performing oversight on operations. $1 per hour for lead hands.

Paid holidays: 10 days. Time and one-half for all hours worked on a named holiday.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of 44 per week. Time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of 10 per day. Time and one-half for all hours worked on a Saturday or Sunday.

Pension: CLAC Pension Plan. No other details available.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for the death of employee’s spouse, common-law spouse, parent, parent-in-law, child, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparent or grandchild.

Call-in pay: Reporting pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay at straight time when an employee reports for work but is prevented from starting due to circumstances beyond employee’s control.

Probationary period: 4 months.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year.

Safety shoes: $200 per year.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer to furnish all necessary personal protective equipment, including work gloves, fall arrest harnesses and associated gear, and safety glasses when required. Reimbursement upon receipt for authorized safety equipment and clothing.

Tool allowance: Electrician’s tools provided: side cutters, lineman’s pliers, needle nose pliers, wire strippers, slot screwdrivers, Robertson screwdrivers, Philips screwdrivers, tape measure, hack saw, straight claw hammer, voltage tester, tool belt, hand tap, dry wall saw, magnetic level, cordless drill, hard hat.

Sample rates of pay, current (including pension, benefit and vacation pay):
Journeyman: $38.48 per hour

Editor’s notes: Travel: $50 per day when staying overnight on a jobsite. Accommodation provided by employer.
