Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 1, 2014, to Aug. 31, 2016.

Wage adjustments:
Effective Nov. 15, 2014: 1%
Effective Nov. 15, 2015: 1%

Shift premium: 85¢ per hour for evening shift, $1 per hour for night shift.

Paid holidays: 12 days.

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 2 years, 4 weeks after 8 years, 5 weeks after 15 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of 40 per week. Double time for all overtime hours worked by custodial and maintenance staff. Time off may be taken instead of financial compensation, up to 5 days may accumulate per year in employee’s bank.

Medical benefits: Alberta School Employees Benefit Plan.

Pension: Local Authorities Pension Plan. Employees eligible after 1 year of service.

Bereavement leave: 6 days for the death of an immediate family member. Immediate family defined as spouse, son, daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother, sister, parent, grandchild or grandparent of the employee or employee’s spouse. Up to 4 additional days for travel.

Seniority – recall rights: 2 years.

Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours at overtime rate.

Probationary period: 65 working days.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years.

Uniforms/clothing: Smocks to be made available for custodial staff, coveralls for maintenance staff. Employees who elect to purchase their own personal safety equipment will be reimbursed up to $250 per year. Up to $100 per school year to purchase gym and swim program bathing suit.

Child care services: $22.72 to start, rising in 4 steps to $25.83
Education assistant V: $27.55 to start, rising in 2 steps to $29.63
Education assistant VI: $30.30 to start, rising in 2 steps to $32.59
Teacher assistant supervisor (half-day): $82.85
Teacher assistant supervisor (full-day): $165.71
Community host: $13.44 per hour to start, rising in 8 steps to $13.85
Mail delivery: $16.59 to start, rising in 8 steps to $18.67
District secretary: $23.12 to start, rising in 8 steps to $26.02
Library clerk: $23.12 to start, rising in 8 steps to $26.02
School assistant administrator: $23.12 to start, rising in 8 steps to $26.02
