Wage adjustments:
Effective upon ratification: 1.5%

Shift premium: $1.02 per hour for all work scheduled between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. $1.09 effective April 28, 2016, and $1.16 effective April 28, 2017. $1.44 per hour for all worked scheduled between 11 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. $1.49 effective April 28, 2016, and $1.54 effective April 28, 2017. $1.44 per hour for employees assigned to 12-hour shifts. $1.49 effective April 28, 2016, and $1.54 effective April 28, 2017. 75¢ per hour for employees with a valid 4th class Stationary Engineers ticket.

Paid holidays: 10 days.

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 3 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 15 years and 6 weeks after 25 years.

Overtime: Double time for all hours worked in excess of the regularly scheduled hours.

Meal allowance: Meal vouchers are provided to employees required to work 2 or more hours of overtime.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of benefits for the Ontario Health Insurance Plan and the Clean Harbors Canada Group Benefit Plan.

Pension: All employees with three months of continuous service are eligible to participate in the company group registered retirement savings plan.

Bereavement leave: 5 days for employee’s spouse or child. 3 days for employee’s father, mother, brother, sister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparent or stepparent. 1 day for employee’s uncle, aunt, grandchild, or spouse’s grandparent.

Seniority – recall rights: A period equal to the employee’s seniority to start, 1 year for an employee with 1 year’s seniority, 18 months for an employee with 5 years’ seniority and 2 years for an employee with 10 years’ seniority.

Call-in pay: Actual hours worked at the applicable overtime rate of pay or 4 hours’ regular pay, whichever is greater. 5 hours at the regular rate of pay when employees are called in between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m.

Probationary period: 120 days.

Severance: 48 hours of pay per year of service with a minimum of 80 hours.

Uniforms/clothing: $300 per year for the purchase of personal protective gear. The employer provides coveralls, gloves, goggles, safety helmets and all other necessary safety equipment.

Editor’s notes: Personal time: Employees are entitled to 36 hours of personal time per calendar year. Effective April 28, 2016, employees will be entitled to 40 hours of personal time per calendar year.
