Hilton Hotel Saint John, N.B., employees ratify 4-year agreement

Unifor, Local 2002 members working at the Hilton Hotel in Saint John, N.B., voted 95 per cent in favour of a new four-year contract.

“The new contract provides stability for the next four years and we are pleased to achieve increases that will protect the members,” said Euila Leonard, Local 2002 president.

Under the new collective agreement, workers will receive wage increases for each year of the four-year agreement.

Other monetary provisions include minimum shifts increased to four hours, an increase in severance pay, part-time members will be eligible to participate in the company’s matched RRSP plan, improvements to dental benefits for part-time employees, incremental increase to safety footwear to $250 then to $300 and three floating days per year effective Jan. 1, 2019.

Unifor, Local 2002 represents about 150 employees. The agreement expires on Dec. 31, 2021.
