Newfoundland resort workers sign new contract

United Food and Commercial Workers Canada (UFCW), Local 1252 members and hospitality workers in Newfoundland won a new contract on Sept. 29 with the Mount Peyton Resort and Conference Centre, located in Grand Falls-Windsor, N.L.

The new three-year deal includes wage increases throughout the contract as well as other important gains, including increased staff premiums, training allowance, night shift premiums and enhanced bereavement leave.
