Winnipeg security guards at SRG sign new contract

Lump-sum payment, increase to footwear allowance part of deal: UFCW

United Food and Commercial Workers Canada union (UFCW), Local 832 members working at Security Resources Group (SRG) in Winnipeg ratified a new collective agreement on Oct. 25.

In addition to wage gains, the workers secured a number of improvements including a one-time lump-sum payment in year one of the contract, an increase to the allowance for safety footwear and additional paid days for on-location training and education, said the union.

SRG provides contract security officers to businesses across Manitoba. UFCW Canada Local 832 represents all mobile, as well as fixed-location officers employed at SRG, said the union.
