Renewal agreement: Effective July 5, 2018, to April 30, 2021. Signed on Aug. 24, 2018.
Shift premium: 15% premium when afternoon or night shift is worked for projects falling under major-industrial definition. 15% premium when working 2 or more shifts within 24 hours, for work between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. Foreman: $2.70 per hour (previously $2.40 per hour) when supervising 1 to 10 employees; $4.24 per hour (previously $3.85 per hour) when supervising 11 or more employees. Foreman (who has successfully completed BSV (Better SuperVision) course): $4.84 per hour (previously $4.40 per hour) when supervising 1 to 10 employees; $6.05 per hour (previously $5.50 per hour) when supervising 11 or more employees. $0.35 per hour for employees working on swing-stage only at heights higher than 50 feet. $3 per hour when engaged in rope-access work for employees with up-to-date rope-access training.
Paid holidays: 10 days. 
Vacations with pay: 9% vacation and holiday allowance will be paid to each employee in lieu of paid vacation and holidays.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after normal hours of work on Monday to Friday. Double time after 2 hours of overtime or all work on Saturday and Sunday. 
Meal allowance: For every 4 hours of overtime worked, meal will be provided. Where adequate meals cannot be provided, $25 will be included in next regular pay.
Medical benefits: Employer contributes $2.30 per hour to benefits plan. 
Pension: Employer contributes $6 per hour (previously $5.75 per hour) to pension plan. 
Call-in pay: Paid at applicable overtime rate, minimum 2 hours. Travel time if applicable will be paid.
Uniforms/clothing: Rainwear will be supplied to employees as required. Employer will provide gloves on all jobs, where employee is working on metal mesh or other metal. Employer will provide approved hard hats and gloves on major-industrial projects.
Tool allowance: Each employee shall equip himself with complete set of tools suitable to profession that will be employee’s property. Employees will be furnished with tools on all foam-glass jobs or compensation will be paid by employer to replace worn tools from operations on foam-glass jobs.
Mileage: $0.55 per kilometre for travel within 45 kilometres of intersection of highways 101 and 102. No travel will be paid until employee has travelled more than 45 kilometres from employee’s home to job site by shortest available, Department of Transportation maintained, normally travelled route.

First year (first 1,000 hours): 45% of mechanic’s rate
First year (second 1,000 hours): 52% of mechanic’s rate

Third year: 76% of mechanic’s rate
Fourth year: 86% of mechanic’s rate
For all work other than major-industrial (journeymen): $36.38 rising 2 steps to $37.11
Apprentices
0 to 1,000 hours: $19.56 rising 2 steps to $19.89
1,000 to 2,000 hours: $20.56 rising 2 steps to $20.94
2,000 to 4,000 hours: $22.17 rising 2 steps to $22.66
4,000 to 6,000 hours: $25.72 rising 2 steps to $26.28
6,000 to 8,000 hours: $30.16 rising 2 steps to $30.79

Editor’s notes: Board allowance: Effective July 5, 2018: $126 per day scheduled (previously $124). Effective May 1, 2019: $127 per day scheduled. Effective May 1, 2020: $129 per day scheduled. Training fund: Employer will contribute $0.47 per hour to Insulators Training, Recreation and Building Trades Fund. Industry fund: Employer will contribute $0.18 per hour to CLRA Industry Improvement Fund. Skills fund: Employer will contribute $0.54 per hour to skills-training fund. Training: Union will provide recognized training for following courses at no cost to employer: WHMIS; fall-arrest; first-aid (as required); confined-space (as required); lift-training (as required); pulmonary-testing (as required); fit-testing (as required). Union will also pay 50% of costs of better-supervision courses.
