Halifax (1,000 librarians, professional counsellors, research staff, instructors) and the Dalhousie Faculty Association (DFA)

Renewal agreement: Effective April 18, 2018, to June 30, 2020. Signed on April 18, 2018. 
Paid holidays: 12 days, plus one-half day for Dartmouth Natal Day. 
Vacations with pay: Time off determined by ratio of months of service to start, 1 month after 1 year. 
Overtime: Double time for librarians working on holidays, maximum accumulation of 19.5 hours. 
Medical benefits: Employer pays 60% of premiums, employee pays 40% of premiums for all employee who participate in major-medical insurance (Blue Cross) plan. Employer will provide $500 per year for health-spending account.
Dental: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums. 
Pension: Dalhousie University Staff Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: Time off will be given for period reasonable in circumstances for death in immediate family. Further unpaid leave will not be unreasonably denied.
Seniority – recall rights: 6 years. 
Probationary period: Greater than 3 years (but not greater than 3 1/2) when appointment takes effect on or after Jan. 1; less than 3 years (but not less than 2 1/2) when appointment takes effect before Jan. 1. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months.

Anomalies fund: In each year of collective agreement, employer will establish separate fund of $137,706 for 2017/18; $139,428 for 2018/19; $141,171 for 2019/20 in order to correct anomalies in base-salary rates. Maximum $5,000 salary adjustment per employee.
