Renewal agreement:

Effective Nov. 1, 2018, to March 31, 2021. Ratified on July 27, 2018. Signed on Nov. 1, 2018. 

Shift premium:

$0.75 for each hour worked on night designation, if employee works 50% or more of scheduled hours between midnight and 6 a.m. $0.50 per hour for non-supervisory employee who acts trainer.

Paid holidays:

12 days. 

Vacations with pay:

1 day per 25 days of service, maximum 10 days to start; 1 day per 16 2/3 days of service, maximum 15 days, after 3 years; 1 day per 12 1/2 days of service, maximum 20 days, after 9 years; 1 day per 8 days of service, maximum 25 days, after 20 years; 1 day per 8 1/2 days of service, maximum 30 days, after 30 years. 

Overtime:

Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Time and one-half for all engineering work between midnight and 8 a.m. (minimum 4 hours’ pay). Double time for all work on seventh consecutive day worked. 

Medical benefits:

Employer pays 100% of premiums. Employees will be entitled to Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan and Fairmont Hotels and Resorts Group Benefit Plan.

Dental:

Employer pays 100% of premiums. Orthodontics, lifetime maximum $1,000 for dependent children younger than 18. 

Vision:

Employer pays 100% of premiums. Maximum $350 every 2 years. Eye exams reimbursed every 12 months at $75 maximum.

Paramedical:

Employer pays 100% of premiums. Coverage of $1,200 per year.

Weekly indemnity:

Employer pays 100% of premiums. Coverage of $485 per week (previously $475 per week). Employer will provide equivalent of 3 days’ wages to compensate for loss of time during 3-day waiting period.

Sick leave:

1 hour for each 81 hours worked in preceding year, maximum 24 hours.

AD&D:

Employer pays 100% of premiums. Coverage of $60,000.

Life insurance:

Employer pays 100% of premiums. Coverage of $60,000.

Pension:

Fairmont Hotels Pension Plan. Employer, employee will contribute 3.2% of earnings up to yearly maximum pensionable earnings and 5% of earnings over yearly maximum pensionable earnings.

Bereavement leave:

After 6 months’ service, 5 days for death of spouse, child, stepchild, parent, stepparent, brother, sister. 4 days for death of mother-in-law, father-in-law. 3 days for death of grandparent, grandchild. 2 days without pay for attending funeral services outside Alberta.

Seniority – recall rights:

12 months.

Call-in pay:

Time as occupied at time and one-half hourly rate, minimum 4 hours for which 4 hours of service may be required.

Probationary period:

60 days of actual work. 

Discipline:

Sunset clause is 18 months for reprimand notices or disciplinary measures (including suspensions).

Safety shoes:

$110 per year (previously $100 per year) for employees who are required by employer or Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations to wear CSA-approved steel-toe safety shoes. Style and colour of shoes must be approved by employer. Additional $75 (previously $55) for enhanced or separate winter footwear for employees in maintenance, service desk, IRD servers, laundry porters, grounds, golf course departments. May be carried over into following year. 

Uniforms/clothing:

Employees required to wear uniforms will be supplied by employer free of charge. Valet and laundry service for uniforms will be supplied by employer.

Tool allowance:

$175 per year, if wear and tear, breakage, damage or theft of tools occurs during working hours.

Paid education leave: Employer will pay $0.02 per hour worked per employee into Unifor Paid Education Leave Training Fund. Hearing aids: Maximum $500 every 4 years (previously every 5 years). Gratuity system: Of gratuities collected for services rendered in F and B (banquets, restaurants, conventions), 67% will be for bargaining-unit employees and remaining 33% will be for employer.
