Provincewide, Prince Edward Island (1,400 health-care workers) and the Prince Edward Island Union of Public Sector Employees (UPSE)

Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2017, to March 31, 2020. Signed on March 5, 2018.
Shift premium: $2.75 per hour for evening, night shifts (any shift commencing between 5 a.m. and 11 a.m. will be considered day shift). $1.75 per hour ($1.50 per hour) for all hours worked between midnight Friday and midnight Sunday. Effective April 1, 2019: $2 per hour.
Paid holidays: 11 days, plus 1 floating holiday. 
Vacations with pay: 9.375 hours for each 162.5 hours worked to start; 9.375 hours for each 162.5 hours worked or 15 days after 1 year; 12.5 hours for each 162.5 hours worked or 20 days after 5 years; 15.625 hours for each 162.5 hours worked or 25 days after 15 years; 18.75 hours for each 162.5 hours worked or 30 days after 25 years. Additional 75 hours of vacation may be carried over to following year.
Overtime: Time and one-half for work after regular daily hours or regular weekly hours, double time after 7.5 hours of overtime. 
Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums for voluntary participation in plans.
Dental: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums for voluntary participation in plans.
Sick leave: 11.25 hours for each 162.5 paid hours, maximum accumulation of 215 days.
AD&D: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums for participation in plans as condition of employment.
Life insurance: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums for participation in plans as condition of employment.
Pension: Employer will preserve existing pension plans.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, child, stepchild, grandchild, ward of employee including child of common-law spouse, parent (including natural parent, guardian, foster-parent, person standing in loco parentis). 3 days for death of brother, sister, grandparent, great grandparent, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, any relative residing with employee. 1 day for death of aunt, uncle, nephew, niece. One-half day to act as pallbearer, flower-bearer, reader at funeral.
Seniority – recall rights: 18 months. 
Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours’ pay at time and one-half, double time after 7.5 hours. Minimum 2 hours’ pay at double time on Christmas Day.
Probationary period: 600 hours worked. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months.
Severance: 75 hours pay for each 1,950 hours worked, maximum 975 hours.
Safety shoes: $125 per year (previously $90 per year) for CSA-approved footwear
Uniforms/clothing: $100 per year for patient/resident-care workers, licensed practical nurses, home-support workers. $100 per year (previously $75 per year) in lieu of providing uniforms.
Mileage: $0.44 per kilometre (previously $0.459 per kilometre) for first 8,000 kilometres per fiscal year; $0.41 (previously $0.434) for all kilometres greater than 8,000 and up to 16,000 per fiscal year; $0.38 (previously $0.402) for all kilometres greater than 16,000 kilometres per fiscal year. Short-trip allowance: $6.25 per day.

Long-service leave credit: On 25th anniversary of employment and every 5-year anniversary thereafter, employee will be given 1 day paid leave in recognition of long-standing service.
