Renewal agreement: Effective Oct. 11, 2018, to March 31, 2021. Signed on Oct. 11, 2018.
Shift premium: $1.10 per hour (previously $0.95 per hour) for all hours worked on afternoon or night shift where majority of hours fall outside normal day shift and work takes place between 3 p.m. one day and 7 a.m. following day. Shift premium will also be paid for the 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. shift from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. $1.10 per hour (previously $0.95 per hour) for each hour worked between 11 p.m. Friday and 11 p.m. Sunday. $0.75 per hour (previously $0.60 per hour) when employer assigns employee to be lead-hand.
Paid holidays: 12 days. 
Vacations with pay: 1 day per month, maximum 9 days, or 4% to start, 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 2 years, 4 weeks after 5 years, 5 weeks after 13 years, 6 weeks after 22 years, 7 weeks after 28 years. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 7.5 hours or 9.375 hours or 11.25 hours per day or after 75 hours or 78.75 hours during pay period. 
Medical benefits: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. 
Dental: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. Orthodontics 50/50 co-insurance with $1,000 lifetime maximum per person.
Vision: $260 every 24 months.
Paramedical: $300 per year for massage. 
LTD: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums for coverage under Hospitals of Ontario Disability Income Plan.
Life insurance: Employer pays 75% of premiums for Hospitals of Ontario Group Life Insurance Plan.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law spouse, partner of same-sex, child, stepchild, parents). 3 days for death of stepparent, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparents, spouse’s grandparent, grandchild, son-in-law, daughter-in-law. Additional unpaid leave of absence may be arranged, subject to approval of department head.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for transfer out of bargaining unit; 32 months for layoffs. 
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay at time and one-half. 
Probationary period: 450 hours worked within any 12 months. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months.
Severance: 2 weeks’ salary for each year of service, maximum 12 weeks’ pay; within 12 months of resignation, reimbursement for tuition tees, maximum $3,000 (when resigning within 30 days of notice that position will be eliminated); 4 weeks’ pay, maximum $1,250, when resigning later than 30 days after receiving notice.
Safety shoes: $115 per year (previously $90 per year) to each employee who is required to wear safety footwear, which must be employer- and CSA-approved.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply and launder uniforms for employees working in childbirth, maintenance, operating room. Employer will supply uniforms in medical-device reprocessing department, environmental services, nutrition and food services, renal program. When employer requires employees to wear uniforms, employer will pay employees $0.05 per hour, maximum $90 per year.

Editor’s notes: Paid education leave fund: Employer will pay $2,000 each year of collective agreement for paid education leave for employees upgrading skills in all aspects of trade-union functions. Safety glasses: Employer will provide for first pair of safety glasses for each employee required to wear protective eyewear (electrician, yardman, senior mechanic, float mechanic, painter, plumber, carpenter). Standard frames and lenses will be issued by employer, as well as prescription glasses. New glasses will be provided once every 3 years. Standby pay: $3 for each hour of standby period. Hearing aids: $500 maximum per person.
