Members of Manitoba Government and General Employees' Union (MGEU), Local 147 at the Université de Saint-Boniface in Winnipeg ratified a new four-year agreement on April 23.

Highlights of the new agreement include improved vacation entitlements for part-time members and expanded retirement benefits, said the union.

The new agreement also includes a letter of intent to negotiate the implementation of new pay scales immediately after its expiry in July 2020, rather than waiting until the end of the next round of negotiations, according to MGEU.

The bargaining committees for Université de Saint-Boniface, Local 148 (professors) and Université de Saint-Boniface, Local 149 (instructors) were expected to receive their offers from the employer on April 25 and ratification votes will be scheduled shortly thereafter, said the union.
