Premiums hiked, wages raised in new agreement: UFCW

United Food and Commercial Workers union (UFCW) Canada, Local 501 members working at the Association chasse et pêche Martin-Pêcheur — a hunting and fishing association in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Que. — agreed to a new union contract on June 10 that provides wage increases, higher premiums.

The new collective agreement runs until November 2021 and covers 15 UFCW 501 members who work as receptionists and patrollers at the association, said the union.

Under the new contract, the employees will receive Wage increases of four per cent in the first year, two per cent in the second year and 2.5 per cent in the final year, a $0.25-per-hour increase in the patroller premium, a $0.25-per-hour increase for assistant receptionists and job postings will now be made available to everyone, said UFCW.

UFCW Canada, Local 501 represents more than 19,000 members at more than 410 companies across Quebec and New Brunswick.
