Swiss Chalet workers in Ontario ratify agreement

United Food and Commercial Workers union (UFCW) Canada, Local 1006A members working at Swiss Chalet restaurants across Ontario ratified a new union contract on Sept. 10 that provides benefit and wage gains and an improved shoe allowance.

The new collective agreement covers approximately 2,200 hospitality members and runs until May 2024, says UFCW.

The committee achieved several gains, including all eligible members being covered under the company benefit plan via improved language, increases to the shoe allowance for all members and improvements to the wage grid, says the union.
