CLC employees ratify new agreement

Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), Local 3111 CULR (Canadian Union of Labour Representatives) ratified a new contract with the Canadian Labour Congress on Oct. 30, after a ratification vote.

The agreement ended the strike which began on Oct. 15, and employees returned to their workplaces on Nov. 1, says the union.

The 46 members are staff at the Canadian Labour Congress and joined the IAM in March 2018.

Over the past two years, the IAM began representing the United Food and Commercial Workers union (UFCW) Canada national reps, Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union (NSGEU) provincial reps, Elementary Teachers of Toronto (ETT) office staff and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 1687, says the union.
