Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2021. Signed on April 1, 2018.

Wage adjustments:

Effective April 1, 2019: 1.8%

Effective April 1, 2020: 1.9%

Shift premium: $1.15 per hour for all hours worked between 5 p.m. and midnight. $1.40 per hour for all hours worked between midnight and 7 a.m. $1.40 per hour to employees for all regularly scheduled hours worked on Saturday or Sunday.

Paid holidays: 11 days.

Vacations with pay: For employees hired before March 1, 2015: 3 weeks or 6% to start, 4 weeks or 8% after 7 years, 5weeks or 10% after 14 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 21 years, 7weeks or 14% after 28 years (for employees hired before April 1, 2009). For employees hired after March 1, 2015: 3weeks or 6% to start, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 18 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 28 years. Employer will pay full-time employees for any unused vacation leave not granted. Payment will normally be made within 6 weeks of conclusion of vacation year or as soon as practicable thereafter.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week; double time after 3 hours of overtime.

Meal allowance: $6.25 for employee who works more than 2hours of overtime.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 95% of premiums, employee pays 5% of premiums. Employer pays 70% of premiums for provincial medical insurance plan premium only in premium paying provinces that levied premium before June 7, 2001, employee pays 30% of premiums.

Dental: Employer pays 95% of premiums, employee pays 5% of premiums.

Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $300 for each 4-year period.

Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, stepfather, stepmother, foster-parents, brother, sister, spouse, common-law spouse, child, child of common-law spouse, stepchild, ward of employee, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandparents, grandparents of employee’s spouse, grandchild, relative residing in employee’s household). 3 days for travel may be given. 1 day to attend funeral of son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law.

Seniority – recall rights: Equivalent to length of seniority for employees with 6 months of employment; 2 years after 2years of employment; 4 years after 15 years of employment.

Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours of work or minimum 3 hours of pay in lieu of work at applicable overtime rate. When employee is recalled to work and is required to use transportation services other than normal public transportation services, employee will be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred: allowance at rate normally paid to employee who use automobile when employee travels by means of own automobile or out-of-pocket expenses for other means of commercial transportation.

Probationary period: 6months.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 12months.

Severance: 1 week of regular salary for each year of continuous employment up to Sept. 30, 2005, maximum 28 weeks.

Safety shoes: $260 every 2years or greater amount if agreed by parties after consultation.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide uniforms, protective clothing. Employer will provide $130 for maternity wear in approved colours. Insulated jackets will be provided on pool-basis when supervisors work on docks and weather conditions warrant it.

Editor’s notes: Displacement: When employee is transferred permanently from 1 working place to another, employee will be entitled to lump-sum compensation of $200 or $400 as distance between residence at time of transfer and employee’s new working place has increased by 3.2 kilometres or 6.4 kilometres respectively. Shift change: If less than 48 hours of advance notice is given, all hours worked by employee on first scheduled shift following change will be paid at time and one-half employee’s regular rate. Marriage leave: After 6 months of continuous employment, employee will be given 5 days of leave to get married. Employee will be given 1 day of vacation leave for attending marriage of son or daughter. Leave for birth: On occasion of birth of son or daughter, employee will be given special leave with pay, maximum 2 days, during period of confinement of spouse. Personal days: Employee will be allocated 7personal days on first day of each year.
