Bombardier workers in Quebec end 5-week strike

New agreement includes 2 per cent wage increase

A five-week strike at Bombardier Transport in La Pocatière, Que., has come to an end and workers could be back at work as early as Thursday morning.

Workers at the railway equipment facility, who are members of the Confédération des syndicats nationaux, voted 82 per cent in favour of accepting a new collective agreement on Wednesday evening.

The deal includes a two per cent annual wage increase for the next three years.

The 330 workers at the plant have been without a contract since September.
