Wages hiked across-the-board by two per cent: Unifor
Unifor, Local 1103 members, who work at De Luxe Paper Products in Toronto, voted 92.5 per cent in favour of a new collective agreement at a meeting held on Aug. 4.
The three-year agreement includes an across-the-board salary increase of two per cent per year and wage adjustment for several positions. Also, the employer’s portion of group insurance premium will be increased to 70 per cent and the employees’ portion will be reduced to 30 per cent (instead of 50-50) and the starting rate will be increased by 9.5 percent, says the union.
As well, workers will receive one year for each block of vacation and reinstatement of a sixth week of vacation, the reinforcement of clauses for the training committee and prevention representative, the hour bank will be increased to 80 hours instead of 40 hours and employees will see an increase in evening, night, trainer and group lead premiums, says Unifor.
