IAM members ratify agreement with Courtyard Brampton

International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), Local 1295 members employed by courtyard Brampton ratified a new collective agreement on Oct. 7.

The employees will receive an increase each year of the agreement, improvements to the way personal and sick days are utilized, says IAM.

Coverage for sick notes, improvements to uniforms and improvements to working conditions as well as a premium for members working in laundry department are also part of the new deal, says the union.

The 27 workers provide housekeeping and maintenance services for the hotel.

The IAM is one of the largest industrial trade unions in North America, representing more than 700,000 active and retired members.
