TTC worker urinating in public a ‘total fabrication’: union

Union president demands apology from ‘duped’ TTC Chair

The union representing Toronto transit workers says media reports of one of its employees urinating against a wall at one of the city’s subway stations are “completely without foundation”.

“This is a total fabrication,” said Amalgamated Transit Union Local 113 President Bob Kinnear in a press release.

Kinnear says that the worker was using his cell phone and has since been disciplined for that action. He also said that TTC workers have been getting insulted and harassed because of the reports of this event.

Earlier in the day, TTC Chair Karen Stintz apologized for the incident. Kinnear demanded an apology from Stintz, saying she was, “speaking about things she knows nothing about.” Stintz has since refused to apologize.

Kinnear is also demanding an apology from media outlets that ran the story.
