Windsor Machine and Stamping workers ratify collective agreement

Deal includes 10 personal emergency days: Unifor

Unifor, Local 444 members working at Windsor Machine and Stamping in LaSalle, Ont., ratified a new four-year collective agreement on Jan. 17.

“At the bargaining table we fight for fairness and equity,” said Jerry Dias, Unifor national president. “The new agreement provides members with three paid personal days per year. In addition, we negotiated the 10 unpaid personal emergency days that were taken away by the Ford government.”

The new contract includes annual wage increases, an extra week of vacation for employees with at least 10 years of seniority and improved benefits, said the union.

Unifor, Local 444 represents 109 production workers at Windsor Machine and Stamping.
