CBC/Radio-Canada and the negotiating committee of the Canadian Media Guild (CMG) agreed to a five-year tentative agreement on Feb. 15.

The agreement follows months of discussions with CBC on issues including temporary and precarious employment, scheduling and wellbeing of employees, Northern benefits and compensation, said the union.

Similar to past negotiations, the parties relied on an interest-based approach throughout the bargaining process that has worked to the benefit of both parties. This approach encouraged cooperation, respect, transparency and fact-based decisions to address issues, said CMG.

The agreement will be submitted to CMG members for ratification, said the union.
