Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2018, to Dec. 31, 2020. Signed on Jan. 1, 2018.
Shift premium: $0.50 per hour for steward. $1 per hour for lead-hand (crane-works scope not applicable).
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 4% of gross earnings to start, 6% of gross earnings after 5 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.
Medical benefits: CLAC Health and Welfare Trust Fund.
Dental: 100% coverage, maximum $2,000 per person per year for basic services. 50% coverage, maximum $2,000 per person per year for major services. 50% coverage, maximum $3,000 lifetime maximum per child younger than 19 for orthodontic.
Vision: $300 per year for younger than 21; $300 every 2 years for older than 19.
STD: 60% of weekly earnings, maximum $600 per week payable after first day of accident or 14th day of illness, maximum 119 days.
LTD: 60% of weekly earnings, maximum $2,600 per month payable after 119 days.
AD&D: Coverage of $100,000.
Life insurance: Coverage of $100,000.
Pension: Union-sponsored group RSP.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse (including common-law), children. Further time off without pay may be taken by agreement between employee and employer. 3 days for death of mother, father, brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather, mother-in-law, father-in-law.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months.
Call-in pay: Employer will compensate employee for all additional transportation and accommodation costs resulting from call-in.
Probationary period: 3 months
Safety shoes: All employees will wear CSA-approved safety footwear where required, to be furnished by employee.
Uniforms/clothing: All employees will wear safety hats, safety glasses which will be supplied by employer. Quality (rubber) ear plugs will be provided by employer. Gloves may be supplied by employer if determined in pre-job agreement. Employer will furnish coveralls for mechanics, welders, servicemen, maximum 3 pairs per year.
Tool allowance: All tradesmen will supply own tools common to trade. Specialty tools will be provided by employer. Mechanics tools will be shipped free on board at employers’ expense from employee’s nearest transportation depot to home base and project site/return. $1 per hour for mechanics and apprentices who supply own tools.
