Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 1, 2018 to Aug. 31, 2021. Ratified on March 18, 2019. Signed on June 19, 2019.

Shift premium: $38.49 per month for building operators Bcertificate (previously $37.74). $38.49 per month for class 5 engineer certificate (previously $37.74). $43.70 per month for buildings operators A certificate (previously $42.84). $48.90 per month for fourth-class stationary certificate (previously $47.94). $2.25 per hour to any employee assigned to work any hours between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Paid holidays: 12 days. If Easter break is replaced with fixed spring break, then day off in lieu of Easter Monday will be given as paid holiday.

Vacations with pay: 1.25 days per month to start, 15 days after 1 year, 20 days after 6 years, 25days after 15 years, 30 days after 24 years, 35 days after 30years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. May be banked, maximum 40 hours.

Medical benefits: Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan (ASEBP). Employer pays 100% of premiums for Alberta Health Care Insurance. Employer will contribute $350 per year for health spending account.

Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for ASEBP dental care plan 3.

Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums for ASEBP vision care plan 1.

Sick leave: 2 days per month, maximum 24 days, in first year of service. 2 days per month, maximum 75 days, in second year of service.

LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums for ASEBP for long-term disability plan D.

Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for life insurance plan 2.

Pension: All eligible employees will participate in Local Authorities Pension Plan.

Bereavement leave: 5 days per year for death of father, mother, husband, wife, son, daughter, brother, sister of employee, parents of spouse. Maximum 10days per year combined for death of father, mother, husband, wife, son, daughter, brother, sister of employee, parents of spouse. 2 days per year for death of grandparents, grandchild, in-laws (may be extended to 5days if circumstances warrant additional leave). 1day per year for death of uncle, aunt, cousin, nephew, niece, friend of family or for acting as pallbearer or to act in ministerial capacity at funeral.

Seniority – recall rights: 2years.

Call-in pay: Paid at double time, minimum 2 hours.

Probationary period: 6months.

Safety shoes: $150 per year for CSA-approved steel-toed boots.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide 2 insulated winter coveralls per school (1 insulated winter coverall for St. Basil Education Centre) for snow removal.

Editor’s notes: Death benefit: Employer, upon death of employee, will immediately pay 1 month of annual salary, less tax deductions, to beneficiary designated by employee.
