JOHANNESBURG (REUTERS) — South Africa's Northam Platinum said on Monday that a government mediator has granted the National Union of Mineworkers permission to call a strike after wage talks broke down.
The junior platinum producer said it is scheduled to hold more meetings with the union in the hope of averting a strike.
